DTY Draw Textured Yarn

Texturizing is a process in which synthetic fibers such as polyester, nylon, and acrylic are modified to gain properties that resemble natural fibers like cotton, wool, and silk. From the perspective of texture and fabric feel (hand feel), texturizing transforms the yarn into a suitable material for textiles.

DTY yarns are ideal for producing warm clothing due to their excellent thermal insulation. Stretch yarns are produced using a variety of methods including:

  • Compression box
  • Hot air jet
  • Knitting and cracking
  • Rotor
  • Impact spinning
  • True twist and false twist

The texturizing process alters the straight structure of synthetic yarns like polyester, nylon, or polypropylene into permanent forms such as spirals, loops, or zigzags, without affecting fiber length.

The DTY section of Dastaranj Rezabaft, with 5,000 positions and a production capacity of 36,000 tons per year, is capable of producing various types of plain or mingled stretch yarns, including white, colored, melange, and Lycra blend yarns, across a wide range of counts from 50 to 1200 denier in full compliance with global standards.

Key characteristics of DTY yarns include:

  1. Enhanced heat insulation through increased air entrapment between fibers.
  2. Reduced specific weight and increased bulkiness, resulting in higher yarn coverage.
  3. Decreased sheen due to uneven light reflection from the yarn surface.
  4. Softer hand feel owing to the transformation from smooth filament yarn to sponge-like textured yarn.
  5. Improved moisture transfer, reducing sweat accumulation on the skin.
  6. Elasticity, especially when using stretch yarns.
